Though, I admit, I sometimes use like when I can't think of the word (which was happening the other night...I was pretty tired/fried)...so I guess I fall into this:

In the past I tried to stop doing it, but I've now had decades of speaking this way, so I dunno. I picked it up from the people I went to high school with and it seems generational. And no, I didn't grow up in California. Somehow even kids in Massachusetts were using "like" that way, too.
