WoW Instances and Raids - What they really look like.
These videos will forever change your perception of instances and raids. I found this while browsing Youtube, and I have a feeling at least a few folks will find it interesting. I provided a little summary of each video.
Side note: these videos are not narrated but there are notes written through the videos to explain what is going on.
How it REALLY Looks - Grimrail Depot:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5Rx8V9SeXMHere, you will see that the entire dungeon is actually an elaborate setup, starting from the depot to the train ride. You will get to see what the terrain and the train are really doing, as well as what happens when you get to the crash site.
How it REALLY Looks - Dragon Soul https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66ajgkn4aT8Using "stages" set up around the map, Blizzard is able to create the illusions for the boat fight, Spine fight and final battle. This video shows how the boat and spine fights actually take place in a bubble, while the final fight is far off in a corner of the map.
How it REALLY Looks - Hellfire Citadel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ltfyvSZHhoYou will see that HFC is split into three different citadels, depending on where you are in the raid. For example, when you start the raid for the first several bosses, the citadel itself is actually floating and is not connected to anything, but your view as the player prevents you from noticing this. This video goes on to detail how the different versions of HFC seamlessly flow together for the full raiding experience.
How it REALLY looks - Icecrown Citadel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZELBhmwuc1YICC takes place in three different sections of the citadel. This raid is similar to the current tier of HFC, with some differences such as the boat fight.
How it REALLY looks - Naxxramas https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=czdF83vGBRsWhen you zone into this instance, you are actually zoning into the Eastern Plaguelands (instanced). The raid tier itself is floating in the air, but your camera can not go outside the walls, so you are none the wiser. It should be noted that ICC is quiet large and occupies a large chunk of the instanced EPL. An interesting tidbit is that the final two boss fights are actually located in a cut out section of Winterspring, which is why you get the ice breath effect in those chambers.
